Cycling in Minnesota

Minnesota is quite flat. In the north there are large areas of conifer forests. In the west and south mostly prairie.

Cycling conditions
The government is very active to promote cycling through a special cycling instruction paper. Furthermore cycling by commuters is stimulated with a "Share the Road" campaign.

LandscapeMinnesota is quite flat. In the north there are large areas of conifer forests in the river valley of the Mississippi River. In the west and south mostly prairie (wild grassland) and livestock fields. Minnesota has 14,000 large and small lakes.

Climate
Minnesota has a truly continental climate: warm to hot summers and cold winters. It rains very little. There are many days with striking blue skies, due to low humidity.
