Maryland is dominated by the Chesapeake Bay. Inland there is a beautiful hilly region with some relaxed cycling tours.

Maryland has a signed bicycle route network with separate bike paths in some areas. The legal protection of the cyclist is not yet described in detail.
Landscape
Maryland has a varied landscape with low plains on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. Long sandy beaches, giving way to a hilly countryside in northern and central Maryland. In the far west the landscape changes in the forested mountains of the Appalachians.
Climate
In eastern Maryland, the hot summers and mild winters are influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. In the western interior of the state it is cooler in summer and the winters are colder.
