Cycling in Iowa

This ‘grain barn’ of America is bordered by the Mississippi and the Missouri River. There are many long-distance cycle paths in this state.

Abbreviation:   IA          Time zone:   Central Time

Cycling conditions

The government puts a lot of energy into teaching bicycle legislation during the (car) driver training and police academy. There is no master plan for bicycle facilities yet.

LandscapeIowa is part of the Great Plains, the great prairie land east of the Rocky Mountains. In the east the state is bordered by the Mississippi River in the west by the Missouri River. In between is a flat and fertile area with rivers and lakes. Agriculture is what Iowa is all about.
