Cycling is promoted by the Tourism Board but there is no statewide bicycle path network.

Alabama is in the middle of the Black Belt, a belt of fertile black soil where cotton was cultivated previously. Here nature is very lush, green and not very spectacular.

Humid, subtropical. Long hot summers and short mild winters. Best season to visit is spring and autumn.
