Escape the casinos and the heat from the strip with this semi-guided E-bike tour of Mt Charleston. Mt Charleston is about 30 degrees F cooler than the strip which makes it a perfect place for E-bike riding in the summer. You will cruise up to 8,000 feet elevation and experience the Spring Mountains rising up the Mojave Desert to provide a forested, spring-fen haven for wildlife and an alpine retreat for visitors. All necessary equipment is provided.
Your semi-guided tour will begin with hotel pickup and transfer to the starting point at Spring Mountain Visitor Gateway in Mt Charleston for a duration of 45 minutes. From there you'll be provided with all the necessary equipment, a safety orientation, and a practice ride on the E-bike.
These e-bikes are pedal-assist and you'll pedal them just like you do a regular bike except that the electric assist takes the strain out of the hills and headwinds. You will be amazed how easy they are to operate and able to go a maximum speed of 20mph.
You will cruise to a cool escape in the summer through the Spring Mountains on a paved road composed of multiple great scenic views. On your way, you will get to see the limestone crags also home to unique plants that can only live on this vertical faces. As you glide along the 15-mile road to Lee Canyon and reach an elevation of 8,700 feet, you have the option to either return to your starting point or choose to ride downhill on the Lee Canyon Road at a speed of 40 mph. The total gain elevation is approximately 3,500 feet. With many picnics area to choose from you can stop for a mini brunch along the way.
After riding approximately 30-miles through the springs Mountains you will return to the meeting location for your return transfer back to your hotel.
