The state can be divided into the upper Great Plains (1250 meters) in the west and the lower Central Plain (200 meters) in the east.

Kansas has a cycle network, but the cycling infrastructure is under development. Information on motor vehicle users and cyclists has been started by the government.

Landscape
The state can be divided into two areas, the upper Great Plains (1250 meters) in the west and the lower Central Plain (200 meters) in the east. The east is mostly wooded and there is more precipitation. The extreme southeast part is part of the high (forested) Ozark Plateau. Wheat and sunflowers are the main agricultural crops in this fertile state.

Climate
The climate in this state is one of warm summers and moderately severe winters. In the summer thunderstorms and tornadoes can occur.
