Itinerary

Day 1:

The tour starts in San Diego around noon. After introductions and bike fittings, there is an optional afternoon ride on the bike path along Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean. A wonderful dinner will follow at a local favorite in the Gas Lamp District of San Diego.

Day 2:

Today's journey starts with a scenic ride along the bike path through Pacific Beach and to the beautiful town of La Jolla for lunch overlooking the ocean. Stronger riders can opt to continue on for a challenging climb to Torrey Pines Park. We will shuttle everyone from La Jolla & Torrey Pines State Beach to Julian, a quaint gold-rush town in the mountain foothills outside San Diego.

Day 3:

Today you will bike from Julian to Borrego Springs. This is a most spectacular ride as you make your way down to the desert overlooking miles of brown and pink rocks and mountains, the tan, gray and green desert floor and the blue of the Salton Sea beyond. There is a picnic lunch along the way before arriving at the Borrego Springs Resort. Here you will enjoy a relaxing two-night stay.

Day 4:

You will ride into the desert on a spectacular descent to the Salton Sea. After lunch at the turn-around point, stronger riders can opt to ride back, while shuttle service is available for those who wish to return to the resort to enjoy the countless amenities of the Borrego Springs Resort. There will be a sumptuous dinner at the resort.

Day 5:

Our journey departs from our desert oasis today, as we head north towards the Temecula Wine Country. You will ride along rolling foothills in the heart of the wine country while passing orchards and horse ranches. You will arrive at the Mount Palomar Vineyard for a gourmet picnic lunch. A wine tasting in the wine cellars of the Churon Winery follows. A fabulous dinner at the Inn finishes our day in the wine country.

Day 6:

Following an unforgettable sunrise and a plentiful breakfast, our journey comes to a close. Shuttle service to the San Diego Airport or local hotel.
