You can discover Southeast Alaska and the Yukon by bicycle on your own schedule and leave the professional planning for your tour to a proffesional outfitter. Let them provide you with all the necessary equipment and arrangements to bike the Golden Circle at your own pace, carrying our gear.

Upon your arrival in Haines, you will make any final adjustments to your bike and gear and familiarize yourself with town and the route. You are within walking distance to the ocean, grocery stores, museums, and restaurants. Spend the afternoon exploring Haines and preparing for your ride. You will need to pack your own bike and purchase enough groceries to sustain you through the first 160 miles of spectacular wilderness to Haines Junction in the Yukon Territory, Canada.

In Haines Junction, you intersect the Alaska-Canadian Highway and travel 100 miles to Whitehorse, the capitol of the Yukon. From Whitehorse you soon turn south to explore the Klondike Highway to its terminus in Skagway. A warm bed and refreshing shower will welcome you at a Skagway B&B or motel. Spend the evening exploring the historic district and reliving your Golden Circle adventure. In the morning you will leave the bike and camping equipment in Skagway.

Along the route, you will camp and cook using the gear provided. You will have the option to stay at lodging facilities in some areas. The seven days of biking traverses 360 miles of the most magical and scenic country in the world. For the independent bicycle adventurer this is a great way to explore the region on your own.

note

Previous wilderness bike touring experience highly recommended as there is no cell phone coverage along most of the route or support if needed.
There are a few B&B's and lodges to choose from along the way if you prefer indoor accommodations at your own expense.

Included:

Surly Long Haul Trucker, touring bicycle equipped with front/rear racks, 4 panniers and handlebar bag (or a BOB trailer) and a helmet.
Camping equipment (tent, sleeping bag, pad, cook kit, camp stove, bear canister for food storage)
Repair kit

Not included:

Transportation to Haines and from Skagway.
All meals.
Any camping fees or lodging along the route.
Transportation or emergency service along the the route.
There are camping options each day, or we are happy to help with suggestions for reservations at local cabins, Inn’s, and B&B’s.

We also take care of transporting the bike and gear and any luggage you may have between Skagway and Haines so you don’t need to return back to Haines (unless you want to!).

Surly Long Haul Truckers are the perfect bike to carry you and your gear around the Golden Circle. Salsa Vaya and Specialized Sequoia light touring bikes may also be an option (limited sizes). You choose between a bike rack & panniers or a BOB trailer.
E-Bikes are not available on this route without vehicle and charging support.
