Accell changes USA strategy

The newly formed 'Accell Group North America' includes Raleigh America, Seattle Bike Supply, Currie Technologies and Lapierre North America. A ‘powerhouse of independent brands’, says their COO Jeroen Snijders-Blok.

Accell Group North America must take the cooperation of Accell's US companies to a higher level, by integrating them as well as to have them share efficiencies and synergies. Accell Group North America is also to bring the competition with Trek, Specialized and Giant-USA to a higher level. To take on the 'Big Three' of the US market and in particular their single brand dealer strategy, Accell is going to bring a multi-brand partnership to the U.S. dealers with more choice, innovation and service.

Looking at the competition Accell Group with its newly formed subsidiary in North America holds the number 4 position in the ranking of the world's biggest bike companies with 1.0 billion in US dollar sales turnover. US based Trek holds the number three position with an estimated turnover of 1.1b US$. Giant stands at second place with 1.8b and Shimano holds the number one position in this ranking with a US$ 3.0b turnover.
